Beaches of Cannes

The city of Cannes has approximately 8 km of sandy beaches. There are essentially private beaches; you must pay for the use of sun beds, parasols and tables. It will cost you from 14 to 44 € per person per day. There are also options for a half-day 9 € plus 5 € per person for towels.

In Cannes, there are also public beaches, they are free. On some public beaches, you will find umbrellas and deck chairs rentals, it will cost you 1.50 € and 2.00 €.

Some hotels have their own private beach; if you're lucky enough to live there it will have, free of charge, at your disposal, beach towels, umbrella and chair.

   The public beaches are overcrowded in high season, families, children, groups, holiday camps. On the private beach chairs are arranged very close, if you do not like promiscuity, avoid the place.

On all the beaches of the French Riviera, you have at your disposal the traditional activities: banana (prices from  2-5 €), parasailing (25-30 €), Jet-skiing (from 10 € per minute). The surf in the resorts of the Mediterranean Sea is not well developed because of the waves that rarely reach the required height.

For children, you can find on the beaches, playgrounds and mini-pools. In addition, you will find special services for child care.

Public Beaches in Cannes

Under the law (Article L321-9 of the Environmental Code), in France, all beaches are accessible to the public. But on the Cote d'Azur you will find many concessions owned by hotels or clubs.

Zone : Croisette

Plage du Casino  Esplanade des Alliés - 06400 Cannes

This is the first beach on La Croisette from the west. Very near to the Palais des Festivals, it is located right in the Rue de Belgesstreet and the Hotel Majestic, it adjoins the beach of the hotel. Plage du Square Verdun  Boulevard de la Croisette - 06400 Cannes

Small beach located between the private beaches, "Sporting" and "Bijou plage", it hosts a Swimming School and the Club Nautique de La Croisette. Open all year. Facilities: showers

Port Palm Beach  Boulevard de la Croisette - 06400 Cannes

The last beach before the Pointe Croisette, it is located between "Bijou Beach" and the breakwater of the small municipal port of Palm Beach. Open all year. Facilities: showers

Plage du Mourre Rouge  Boulevard Eugène Gazagnaire - 06400 Cannes

Swaying on 700 meters of rock between levees, pontoons, and small fishing ports, the Mourre Rouge beach is the only beach in Cannes located in the extreme east. It offers a beautiful view over the Ile Sainte-Marguerite and the Fort Royal. It houses the facilities of the sailing center and a municipal first aid station.
